Everything that can go south in the life of Tunde Ayeni, the former chairman of Skye Bank Plc, is doing so. His businesses are on crutches and gasping for breath. Friends who have wised up to his wily and wayward ways are keeping him at arms’ length and protecting their spouses from his vicious grips. 

Now, inside sources are swearing by everything they hold sacred that his marriage to Biola, the mother of his kids, totters on the brink of collapse.

The sources say Biola lives an uneasy life. As the wife of a billionaire, her life should be a stanza of joy; rather, their union resounds like the spent hiss of a dying serpent. Many describe her as an ocean of hopeless grief because she
only hears that her husband is a billionaire but does not live like one. The unsavoury tales of her husband’s dalliances with women – married, single, widowed and divorced alike – have left her enervated. 

For several years, she battled the intimidating and intrusive presence of Gail Fajembola, who used to run Cynosure Interiors and Designs, the luxury interior decorations and furniture shop in Victoria Island, Lagos, in their union. Gail was the love interest of Ayeni but the crooked wood in the fire of his marriage. She had him wrapped around her fingers and Ayeni worshipped the ground she trod. He saw sunshine in Gail’s smile and her voice went right to his brain like a shot of single malt. Like a yo-yo, Gail manipulated him for her selfish ends. Although he owes a lot of banks and contractors outrageous debts amounting to billions of naira, he splurged on Gail and she got whatever she wanted. Many may not have raised eyebrows if their illicit affair did not affect Ayeni’s home but it did and worse still, Gail determined how he treated his wife. 

When their love was intense, Ayeni reportedly bought her a stately apartment in the billionaire’s haven, Banana Island, Ikoyi. And Gail knows how to play the part of the cocky and sophisticated mistress. At Ayeni's expense, she had a retinue of house-helps at her beck and call at her Banana Island residence. For her global fashion jaunts, she had at the snap of a finger the private jet of Ayeni; a preeminent status that nicked for her the franchise of Christopher Guy regarded as the biggest name in the global luxury finishing business.

Even more disheartening for the Ayenis’ close friends and relatives is the fact that Gail decides what he does for the children he had with his legitimate wife and how much he invests in Biola's fashion business. It took the intervention of family and friends to get Ayeni to throw Biola a modest 50th birthday party in 2019, which guests described as not befitting a billionaire’s wife celebrating such a milestone age. The long-suffering woman resorted to prayers and vigils and now, her prayers are answered as life has happened to Gail on all fronts and she has relocated to London.

Despite the initial relocation which Biola saw then as an answer to her prayers, Gail is still tugging at the heartstrings of Ayeni. He is said to still be financing her la Vida loca lifestyle. 

And there are other women still giving Biola sleepless nights. There’s a top official in a security agency who helps cover a lot of Ayeni’s tracks. She enjoys the largesse from him and he doesn’t mind so far she has his back. It was gathered that when news broke recently that Ayeni and his erstwhile friend, Captain Hosa Okunbo, chairman of Ocean Marine Solutions, have fallen out, the woman reportedly swore that she would use all her contacts and connections to ensure that Ayeni got the better of Okunbo. 

There’s also the new wife of a dandy Lagos king who was Ayeni’s heartbeat at a point. Biola knew about her but kept her peace. Not forgetting Ada, the ex-flame of billionaire Greg Uanseru. Gorgeous Ada caused a rift between the two big men as mutual friends held that Ayeni’s libido should not have driven him to start dating his buddy’s ex. Ayeni was past caring. He added Ada to his long list of conquests straddling different shapes, sizes and statuses.
